Craving some flavorful noodle dishes, bubble tea and savory curry? Looking for a unique dining atmosphere? Look no further than Duck Walk! Located in Chicago’s bustling Lincoln Park neighborhood, Duck Walk offers traditional Thai cuisine at a price that is easy on your wallet.

Crab Rangoon

Unlike your typical Thai restaurants, Duck Walk has a very modern atmosphere. Colorful furniture, gleaming white tables and wood details create an upscale feel. Typical of many Chicago restaurant’s, Duck Walk makes the most of the small storefront space they are housed at. Tables line the walls with seating available for around 25-30 people yet patrons rarely way for seating. The staff is very efficient in getting people in and out during the dining rush.

I first experienced Duck Walk when I was visiting my younger brother, who was then a senior at DePaul. The restaurants convenient location just on the edge of campus makes it a popular destination for students looking for some tasty Thai.

Pad ThaiWe started our meal with the crab rangoon. It was amazing. The outsides were perfectly crisped and the insides were gooey with cheesy deliciousness combined with fresh crab. My brother ordered the Pad Thai which looked amazing. Unlike many other restaurants, the pad thai noodles were cooked slightly al dente while the sauce was thick and flavorful. Wanting to try something both sweet and spicy, I ordered the Panang Curry. One bite and it is clear why this is considered the best Panang in the city! The sweet curry was cooked with bell peppers, citrus leaves and coconut milk, creating the perfect blend of sweet and spicy.

The service was fantastic. Although it was a bit busy, our waitress was very friendly, never rushed us and was super attentive. As much as you may be tempted to order out, I would definitely recommend dining in to experience all that Duck Walk has to offer. My only regret was not discovering it sooner!
